Today I did something that I should not have done....
Back in the college days when boredom set in there was really only one option in Laramie... Wal-mart.
Kristen and I or Kendal and I would find ourselves there quite often, sometimes up to 4 times a day depending on the level of boredom.
Frequently while wandering through Wal-mart Kristen and I would get an itch to color our hair. I colored her, she colored me, it was the perfect symbiotic relationship.
Well today I had no symbiotic-ness and I attempted to color my hair on my own!

I needed more hands! The coloring part was actually fine. I got my whole head covered and I didn't slosh it all over the bathroom. I washed the color out and proceeded to the highlighting.
First of all I could tell as I was starting to mix it that there was not going to be enough for my head! Well there was nothing I could do about that, so I began picking strands to highlight. The font pieces were easy. The paste was sticking to the top part of my hair but not so much to the bottom part of my hair. I distributed as best I could. I eventually gave up on the stupid brush and used my fingers. When I was finally done it seemed there was a lot more paste on the top of my hair than at the ends. I tried to even it out. Waited waited waited, then rinsed. Well needless to say the highlights did not turn out very good. The top is lighter than the bottom and all sorts of things. (Pictures soon to come). And there was not enough highlights all the way around. I needed more hands and eyes.... (Although even if Kristen was here, she wouldn't have been able to help me with the application part because she is preggers! But she would have definitely been helpful picking the box out! It's not as light as I was wanting to go, but standing at the shelf I chickened out because I didn't want to end out a blonde.... should have gone with the light box though!)
Sigh..... we'll see.
